MapofCities is designed to respect your privacy. We do not require you to create an account to generate map posters. When you use the MapofCities Studio, all customization data (such as selected locations, themes, markers, and custom routes) is stored locally on your device within your browser's local storage or URL parameters.
2. Analytics and Tracking
We use basic, privacy-friendly analytics tools to understand general site traffic and usage patterns. This data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not track individual users across the web or sell any personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
To provide map rendering services, we utilize MapLibre GL JS. Our primary map data and vector tiles are generously provided by OpenFreeMap, which uses map data from OpenStreetMap. When you view or generate maps, these requests may expose your IP address to these tile providers as part of standard web traffic. OpenFreeMap operates a privacy-respecting public instance with no registration, no user database, and no cookies.
4. Your Data, Your Control
Because we do not store your map designs on our servers, you retain full control over your creations. You can clear your local studio settings at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cache.
